AS most of you will know Joy passed away from MND in 2017. This will be the second event to finish on Joy's birthday and hopefully with different challenges will continue as an annual occasion.

MND is a fatal disease for which there is no cure. Roughly a third of people who are diagnosed with it die within the first year and 50% within two years. Research is badly needed to understand how and why it does what it does so that treatments can be developed. Please help raise money for this worthy cause. The MND Association is the only registered charity in England, Wales and Northern Ireland dedicated to supporting sufferers and carers as well as sponsoring research.

I don't believe that I will see a cure in my lifetime but if they can at least understand some of the reasons for how it develops then that would  hopefully be the start of the road towards not just treatment but a cure.
